App descriptionMilestones matter! Track your child’s milestones from age 2 months to 5 years with CDC’s easy-to-use checklists; get tips from CDC to support your child’s development; and find out what to do if you ever have concerns about your child's development.
From birth to age 5, your child should reach milestones in how he or she plays, learns, speaks, acts and moves. Photos and videos in this app illustrate each milestone and make tracking them for your child easy and fun! Spanish photos and videos are coming soon!
• Add a Child – enter personalized information about your child or multiple children
• Milestone Tracker – track your child’s development by looking for important milestones using an interactive checklist
• Milestone Photos and Videos – know what each milestone looks like so that you can better identify them in your own child.
o Due to COVID-19, photos and videos to support the updated milestones have been delayed for the Spanish checklists but will be added in a future update.
• Tips and Activities – support your child’s development at every age
• When to Act Early – know when it’s time to “act early” and talk with your child’s doctor about developmental concerns
• Appointments – keep track of your child’s doctors’ appointments and get reminders about recommended developmental screenings
• Milestone Summary – get a summary of your child’s milestones to view, and share with or email to your child’s doctor and other important care providers

*This milestone checklist is not a substitute for a standardized, validated developmental screening tool. These developmental milestones show what most children (75% or more) can do by each age. Subject matter experts selected these milestones based on available data and expert consensus.
CDC does not collect or share any personal information that can be used to identify you or your child.

There are videos to show what critical milestones typically look like. I like the 'summary' feature, which can be shared with the Pediatrician. It let's you know if there might be a cause for concern with baby, especially, if you click 'not yet' or ' not sure" (this can also cause parent panic). This is a concrete way to discuss your child. It gives first time parents the specific language to use when expressing concerns to care providers. I wish I could sync/share 1 account with spouse.
Was a great app but the latest update erased almost two years of longitudinal milestone tracking for my child. This was my primary resource for tracking this data as I never imagined an app from the CDC would be so unstable as to erase all the data with an update. As a physician, this is especially galling to me. I'll likely just stop using this app and return to the old days of using printed milestone tracking since it can't be trusted.
This app was great, complete with videos if you weren't sure if LO was preforming an action. However with the newest update all history was wiped out and forced to start as though we never used the app before. Definetly disappointing since I stopped keeping a written milestone journal after finding the app. Who know when she started laughing now.
The update wiped all my data out. I had to go into the app as though I had never used it before. Be sure not to type any notes in. Thank God I didn't store notes because that would have been wiped too!
Clean update so far but why did all the data get wiped. I mostly was using it as a checklist but I couldn't imagine if I was actually storing notes that seemed to have been deleted after the new update.
P*ssed! 😩😩😩😩🤬🤬🤬🤬😤😤😤😤 Updated app and its lost all my details and previous data, uninstalling! Not letting you do that again.
After the latest update I can't find a way to log in, to access my existing account. Help?
Why did all my data get wiped from your last update?
Not helpful or reassuring to parents of preemies. As a physical therapist, I adjust milestones for prematurity when performing developmental testing. I don't think it would be too hard to do the same for an app with a list of milestones.
I wish there was the option to adjust for prematurity. Every time I go in to update a milestone, a page pops up at the end to tell me that I should be concerned and to talk to my child's doctor. I know the app is designed for typical development, but it wouldn't be that hard to have a button to click to say that your child is atypical and to adjust for a different age.
The app basically says that you should consult your doctor no matter if the child doesn't meet all or only one of the developmental milestones. This will make parents very concerned.
This app is fine for typically developing kids. I wish there were places to indicate special needs and modified developmental needs. To my knowledge, there aren't alternative developmental milestone charts even available. Which is really frustrating, for example of course my blind child is not pointing at pictures of the animals in books. But, there's no alternative Milestone checklist available for her. So, this really wasn't very useful for our family as most of our children have special needs
I love the short video clips that give an illustration of exactly what the milestone looks like!
i love this app. It gets straight to the point. You pick their age and can check mark milestone. Its simple and my daughter is almost 2 and ive used this since she was born to help me keep on track with what she needs to be doing. Perfect for all types of moms including veteran moms and brandnew moms!
Great resource for anyone who spends time with small children!
