Works as they said it would. AND - after it is bought and paid for (one-time), they do not try to maneuver customer toward paying for "extras" because it is cocomplete as is.! What a relief! Even if you have a slide-cover for the lens, get this app. You may not know for days when the lens cover falls off, there is no warning.
Thurs. 9/24/20 9pm PST I have used the Free Version of Camera Block on my smartphone for many years. I feel very confident knowing, that installed applications aren't able to take pictures or record my phone calls. Today I decided to purchase the $7.99 Camera Block Pro Version. It also has Anti-Malware in this upgraded version of Camera Block. I definitely am very pleased with its performance on my smartphone. It is worth the investment for my overall security on my smartphone.
I've been using the pro version for years. It's the only app I will remember to always make sure is downloaded whenever I get a new device. The thing works great. I've never seen glitches or crashes, there's easy launch widget settings, 1 press notification unblocker and an app list for auto unlock when you launch chosen apps. It's just a solid built and well maintained app. Highly recommend!
Its perfect!! It does what it is supposed to, it could be any simpler and effective. I wish all of my apps worked this well.
I have used it for years on on my Android devices with cameras, with great satisfaction. It's very handy to be able to quickly and easily launch either of two apps I choose and have camera automically enable to use them, and to automatically disable camera access again after a short time. I chose long ago the pay the modest upgrade charge. I've been glad I did. Why hassn't Google built some capability like this into any of most recent Android releases?

Good Idea Bad Customer Service, I have an issue using The video call because it does not allow me to use the camera even when I turn it off. I email customer service right away or the developer and have not heard back it has been least 3 weeks without hearing back from them or getting a refund as I requested. If they were to reach out and at least explain to me how to do this then they might get 5 stars but until then this is what you get.
APP IS DEAD !! DON'T PAY FOR IT -> NO UPDATES FOR OVER A YEAR ... been using since it came out, paid for pro, very disappointed 8((
Camera block won't work on my pixel 4a, it did for awhile, now it won't, and don't buy any Google phones they suck
Works great! Love it! Except the widget. I put it on the desktop and it works. After awhile it doesn't work. Not sure what triggers it: a period of time, a phone restart, I don't know. I only know I delete the widget, put it back and it only works for awhile. I use the mic block app and widget as well. The widget for that one works flawlessly all of the time.
Paid for Pro because I'm not a cheapskate with my hand out. Works perfectly! I really hadn't considered just HOW many apps have both camera and data access. At first, I couldn't get flashlight to work with the Bixby button remapping app, BX Actions, but I figured it out. In that app, I had to select "factory" flashlight instead of the "extra power" option (whatever that means). All good now.
App works but widget not working since recent updates. It's happening to both of my Samsung and Motorola so it's not a phone issue. Such an inconvenient having to open the app and block or unblock instead of single clicking on widget. Widget only works momentarily after I open the app to block and unblock. But goes into unresponsive state. Reistalled many times but no go. IMO app is worthless without working widget. Therefore only one star. Send email to developer weeks ago but no response.
Great app to secure the camera from being used until I need it. It would be nice if the whole app didn't have to open, just maybe unlock/lock based on selecting it as a quick option. This would save a c couple steps in taking a photo with the camera. I hope you guys can do this. I'll update my review to five stars once new features are implemented. Thanks!
